Summertime

Just a few pics of things we have been up to this summer. We havent been out and about too much this summer because we are trying to cut back on spending so we spend most of our time at home and in our new yard :)

4th of July

4th of July was different for us this year...mostly because we didnt spend it with family like we always do and it never got dark for fireworks. There was a parade, but we missed it because it was during Seths nap, but we did end up doing quite a bit all afternoon/evening. First, we went to town to look at all the firetrucks.

Then we went to the pond to watch canoe jousting. It was nice to just sit on the lawn, let the kids play, watch people fall into the water and the sun decided to come out :) It had been raining all morning. It got nice and warm. We were prepared with our rain jackets, hoodies, but no sunscreen. So yes, I ended up burning. Luckily the kids take after Tairel and they just tan. After the canoe jousting (which some friends of ours won that...yeah!) we headed over for a free BBQ the city did for everyone. We always get free food here. Its awesome.

After everyone was done eating, we all headed about 15 miles out of town to some gravel pits do have a bonfire and do fireworks...Seth decided he wanted to drive on the way there.

Ever wonder what fireworks look like when it never gets dark? Can you even see them? It was mostly hearing them is all we got out of it. These were all taken between the hours of 9pm-11pm.
